Garrett Krueger - La Cosse, Wisconsin
Garrett Krueger was born and raised in La Crosse, WI. The lush natural beauty of the Mississippi Valley, combined with the industrial, blue-collar factories of the La Crosse area had a great affect on his imagery. He majored in art at The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and received his MFA in sculpture from The University of Kentucky.
After school, Garrett worked at Ferrous Inc., an industrial foundry in Winona, MN. He then returned to academia teaching at several locations, including Monmouth College, Indiana University of South Bend, and currently at The University of Notre Dame. He is proud to have been recently elected as Vice President of The Sculpture Trails Executive Board.
Garrett’s work is largely figurative, dealing in both representational realism and abstraction. His ideas are largely derived from contemplations on spirituality, mythology, philosophy, and the interactions between people in the world. Garrett continues his artistic endeavors, challenging himself with new materials and processes in his journey of aesthetic exploration.
