July 1 31 The Cast Iron Sculpture Workshops

Open daily to the public 10-5. Come out and meet the artists, walk the Trails and create an iron casting of your own!

July 11th - 30th Intern Cast Iron Sculpture Exhibition

Come check out sculptures on display in the Old Tobacco Barn Gallery created by our interns from around the Country. All works are for sale! Open daily from 10am to 5.

July 6 — Aluminum Pour at the Greene County 4-H Fairgrounds

B.E.S.T Project (Bringing Elementary Students Together) Join in the fun at the Greene County Fairgrounds. This Bi-Centennial project has been selected by the committee for Greene County. BEST is a project bringing history, storytelling, and art together. Students in grades one through five received a scratch block. They will then scratch a design into the block. When completed, volunteer staff from Sculpture Trails Outdoor Museum will pour the blocks with aluminum and the cast aluminum pieces will be displayed as one big sculpture in the Greene County Community Event Center. The artwork will combine multiple images that overlap and represent the rich cultural and architectural highlights of Greene County.

July 16th Annual Aluminum Pour

Can you imagine producing a 5 x 7 relief sculpture plus getting the flavor of the casting experience, all with no experience necessary? You can do it and you will be amazed at your own creativity! This is an event the entire family can enjoy together and it is a great way to experience art! Come spend the afternoon with us at the Sculpture Trails! Create art and enjoy a walk on the Trails.

Scratch blocks are available for a $20 donation and artists are available to help you plus they will pour your mold right before your eyes!

July 30th — 7th Annual Fire @ Night

This is the last chance of the summer to make your very own cast iron relief sculpture! Make sure you arrive early so you have plenty of time to work on your scratch block masterpiece. Music to entertain you during the day will be provided by “Totally Tunes DJ”, plus food will be available. Hang out and talk to artists from all over the country as well as from the United Kingdom. Ask these cast iron masters for any helpful hints for your own work of art. They are very willing to help you create a masterpiece! Scratch blocks are available for $20 each.

The Foundry Crew will start pouring iron as the sun sets, this makes a spectacular viewing event! See the 3000˚ glowing molten iron poured into your scratch blocks right alongside the huge sand molds made by the Cast Iron Workshop participants who have been working hard on their molds all month. This is an event you don’t want to miss!
